Welcome to the Southern Methodist College Newsletter. This newsletter will be sent out periodically to keep you informed as to the college life and activities.
The 2017-2018 school year is now complete, and we are working and preparing for the beginning of a new school year. The Fall Semester will begin on August 21st, and we are praying for an increase in enrollment from the past year.
There are two special classes that we want to bring to your attention:
CM 208 Teaching Children Effectively will be taught September 10 – November 12, Monday evenings, 6:00-9:30 PM, at First Baptist Church of Bamberg. This program is being offered in conjunction with Child Evangelism Fellowship. Miss Ellen Hucks is the general instructor.
CM 311 Biblical Principles of Family Life will be taught October 23 – December 17, Tuesday evenings, 5:30-7:30 PM, in Gamble Hall. Dr. Vic Reasoner is the instructor.
The time to register is now! If you have questions about which courses you should take, please contact me at email@example.com. Financial assistance is available to our students. We are thankful for a number of scholarships available to our students who apply. For a scholarship application of information, please contact Dr. Hucks or Dr. Reasoner.
We remind you of the option of on-line registration and on-line payments available at our general web-site: www.smcollege.edu. On-line registration has been a suggestion made by several students and we are happy to provide this service.

News around campus . . . Dr. Harry Zimmerman has joined the adjunct faculty and is busy preparing an on-line version of the Exegetical Preaching course to be offered in the near future. Dr. and Mrs. Richard Blank are moving to Lynchburg, Virginia in August. Dr. Blank will continue his work as Director of Institutional Advancement and as a faculty member by means of on-line and telephone technology. … Hannah Hucks will be leaving our staff to begin graduate studies at Columbia International University. Hannah, we will miss you!
