Newsletter – June 21, 2018

Welcome to the Southern Methodist College Newsletter.  This newsletter will be sent out periodically to keep you informed as to the college life and activities.

We have halfway through the summer semester. We have several students taking classes during the summer, and others are enjoying the break. There will a summer break for all students following the conclusion of the summer semester on July 16th. The Fall Semester will begin on August 21st. If you have questions about which courses you should take, please contact me at jhucks@smcollege.eduFinancial assistance is available to our students. We remind you of the option of on-line registration and on-line payments available at our general web-site: On-line registration has been a suggestion made by several students and we are happy to provide this service.

News around campus . . . Rev. Dan Shapley is the new Director of Continuing Education for the College. Rev. Shapley is a former President of our College. …  Woody Gregory has agreed to serve as Property Manager for the College and will assist the administration in getting the best use of the facilities God has provided us. … Dr. and Mrs. Richard Blank are moving to Lynchburg, Virginia in July.  Dr. Blank will continue his work as Director of Institutional Advancement and as a faculty member by means of on-line and telephone technology. … Hannah Hucks has been accepted into the graduate counseling program at Columbia International Universityand will begin her studies in August. … We ended our fiscal year on May 31st and rejoice in God’s financial provision.  We received $56,000+ in donations from individuals, $53,000+ from our sponsoring Southern Methodist churches, and $11,000+ from other donors. We could not do what we do without those who give to help pay the bills and keep tuition low for our students.

We are thankful for each of our students. It is a blessing working with each of you as you pursue your calling of Christian life and service. May the Lord continue to bless you in all of your labors for Him!
