Lynn Corbett Library, named for the late Rev. W. Lynn Corbett, past president of the Southern Methodist Church and former administrator of the College, contains more than 5,000 square feet of floor space and a collection of over 20,000 volumes, a reference room, open stacks, reading and study areas, the Methodist Room, and the office of the Librarian. The library, supported through gifts, memorials, and endowments, provides services for students of the College, alumni, pastors, and other members of the public interested in research. The Methodist Room contains a collection of various resources for the study of Methodism and Southern Methodism in particular.

The Lynn Corbett Library, the academic center of Southern Methodist College and an integral part of the educational process, has a collection of materials that adequately undergirds the curriculum.

The mission of the Lynn Corbett Library is to provide support for the curriculum of Southern Methodist College and to provide the college community with such services as necessary in fulfilling this purpose.

The library has been instituted to provide:

  • Materials for research and study, practical ministries, and recreation
  • Assistance in locating and using information
  • Instruction in research methods and techniques
  • Facilities and atmosphere conducive to study
